As we reach our mid-year milestone, I would like share the good news of our year to date. We currently employ four full-time staff members. During our restructuring we employed two and sometimes three employees with no business manager and relied heavily on our volunteers. We now have a full-time manager, we own our equipment, and are undertaking a huge digitizing project with the Foundation. During our June Board Meeting, we were pleased to learn we had a net profit of $9,904.08 for the month of May. This gives us a year-to-date profit of 24,830.53. The Society membership is down a little from this time last year, but we have 173 Library members compared to 172 one year ago. This year we are going to try something very different for the annual picnic. Mike Maroney did a great job last year, but the turnout was poor. Our committee chairman this year is Corey Baker and with help from his committee, Brian Wilhite and Mike Maroney helping, he came up with an alternate plan. The Board approved it unanimously. We will be renting All Star sports entertainment center and all but the video games will be included with the ticket price. This includes dinner, pop, beer, Laser Quest, Go-Karts, the new Rock Climbing Wall, and Miniature Golf. more information Additionally, we will be using the AIR-CONDITIONED pavilion for the bingo. I told Corey if the picnic change was a success, as President I would take credit. If it failed, well---he IS Picnic Chairman this year. May the wind be at your back and all your prospects set pipe.
