FROM THE MANAGER'S DESK
Dear Members,

Well, I have completed one year as your business manager and I must say, it has been a very busy year!  The time seems to have flown by but when I look back at the year, I realize just how busy it was and  all that  we have accomplished.  New scanning / copy equipment, new area for the scanning company to work, new employees and good progress on the archiving project and digital library.   We have also had some students from WSU, under the direction of Sal Mazzullo & Chellie Teal- Mazzullo, integrating the small scale logs in with the large scale.  We really appreciate all of their hard work.  There is always integration to be done so if you want to offer just a few hours at a time, integration would be a good place to help out.  I would like to say a special thanks to Brad Rine for coming in several days and filing small scale logs.  He sets a wonderful example of how a few hours per week can really make a difference!

Well, as the end of the year approaches, it is time to decide on your leadership for 2003.  Please look over the “Meet the Candidates” section of this bulletin and visit with  the candidates if you get the chance.   Each of the candidates comes with wonderful qualifications and we need to remember to thank them for accepting the run for an office.

Those of you who belong to the Foundation will also be receiving a ballot this year.  Please note that the person  who made this ballot (me), typed “Return Ballot by Dec. 1, 2003.”  That should obviously have said Dec. 1, 2002!

Please notice on page 25 the information on the Annual Banquet.  Doug Davis is working very hard to make this an even better banquet than last year.  Page 24 shows you who the entertainment will be.  We are so fortunate to have such talent in this city!  Doug also has some other things up his sleeve, so to speak, so it would be a very good idea if you attend the banquet this year!  You don’t want to miss out on the fun!  We will be honoring SEVERAL 50 year members this year.

Thank goodness the price of oil has stayed above $20 and some of you have stayed fairly busy throughout the year.  Hopefully there will be much more business for all of you in 2003!!

Respectfully,

Rebecca Radford
