Dr. M. J. Brady, Visiting Petroleum Geologist, K-State, “Exploration History and Hydrocarbon Potential of Somalia” September 18, 2002. Bob Cowdery, Wichita, Kansas, presentation of the material gathered by Don Lewis, Lafayette, California on the “Future of Geoscientists” September 25, 2002. Old Business: The KGS is researching the cost of security cameras for the KGS Library. Net Impact Software has signed the sublease agreement with the KGS for server space in the back room of the KGS. A meeting is scheduled with attorney Janet Ward and accountant Joe Walsh on September 11, 2002 to determine the viability of a Limited Liability Corporation for the Walters Digital Library. New business: Roger Martin will chair the Distinguished Awards Committee and the Nominating Committee. The Kansas Geological Foundation (KGF) requested the Kansas Geologic Society to split the cost of a legal bill incurred by the KGF requesting a legal opinion concerning ownership of materials, including maps and seismic, donated to the KGF. Motion was approved by the Board to refuse to pay for half of the legal bill incurred by the KGF Trade Secrets Opinion Letter. Meeting was adjourned at 2:05 P.M. ITEMS
