Independent Oil and Gas Service ![]() L. D. Drilling of Great Bend (KS) has established the new Gola field in northwestern Lane County, near the Gove County line. Their #1 York, spotted in approximately C N/2 SW NW in section 2-T16S-R30W, is on pump making 25 barrels of oil and 20 barrels of water per day. The pool opener is producing crude from Marmaton perforations at 3,952 to 3,957, 4,072 to 4,077 and 4,125 to 4,127 feet. First production commenced on April 27, 2002. Company-owned drilling rig drilled the well to a total depth of 4,370 feet. Kim B. Shoemaker was well site geologist. The new discovery site lies nearly 3/4-mile due west of #2-II York, NE/4 in section 2, that opened the LaYork field in 1984. The well produced 145 barrels of oil daily from the upper Marmaton from 4,105 to 4,109 feet. Non-commercial shows of oil were also noted in the Altamont, Pawnee, Myrick Station and Fort Scott limestones in the lower Marmaton group. The new Gola field is located about 6 miles north of Healy, Kansas. ![]() 6) Hess Oil
