Dear Members,
Another year begins! Twenty 03! We should be in for a good
year with the price of oil hopefully staying high.
I am looking forward to this new year as we embark on the new frontier
of the Digital Library. We had hoped to be on-line by January 1st
but it is looking like it will be delayed. We still are aiming for
going “live” within the 1st quarter of 2003.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome our new Board to their
positions. I am looking forward to working with everyone and know
that we will have a very good year. Our new President is Tim
Pierce, President-Elect is Tom Hansen, Secretary is Ernie Morrison and
Treasurer is Mike Maune. Our new board member at large is Gus
Messinger. Please join me in thanking these gentlemen for taking
the time to serve on our Board of Directors.
Other news around the library… the upcoming Banquet will be held on
Friday night, January 24th at 5:30 pm. I would like to encourage
everyone to attend if at all possible. We have some wonderful entertainment
lined up and we are planning on a very fun night. Wear your dancing
shoes! Please see pages 22 and 23 for more information on the
Banquet. Thank you Doug Davis for putting this party together for
us again this year.
We will be honoring two gentlemen this year at the Banquet. Glen
Thrasher and Joe Moreland. Please take some time to read the profiles
on these two men on pages 14 and 15.
I am sad to report that one of our members passed away this past month,
Harold Trapp. Harold was a long time resident of the Landmark Square
building and is missed by all of us who were used to seeing him on a daily
basis. We extend our condolences to his family.
I would like to close by wishing all of you the best of the new year.
May your prospects find investors!
Respectfully submitted,
Rebecca Radford
