2003 Kansas Geological Society Field Trip and Subsurface Workshop
March 29th and 30th, 2003

The Kansas Geological Society and Department of Geology, Wichita State University sponsored
a field trip led by Dr. Wan Yang, a professor at Wichita State University. Rock enthusiasts and hydrocarbon bloodhounds braved the chilly, windy day for an exciting trip through Upper Pennsylvanian time to get a look at shelf-to-delta deposits comprising the Oread Cyclothems. Outcrops were climbed, hammered, and photographed from N.E. Oklahoma to S.E. Kansas. Below are just some of the sights. A field guidebook is in the K.G.S. Library for anyone interested.
