1) Murfin Drilling Company Has Oil Discovery
New Arbuckle oil reserves have been discovered at a wildcat site in southwestern Rooks County by Wichita-based Murfin Drilling Company. The #1-28 Irene Z, spotted in approximately NW SE SE in section 28-T10S-R19W, was put on pump on February 4, 2003 for an undisclosed production rate. The new field has been named Armbrister East.  The wildcat well was drilled to a total depth of 3820 ft., nearly 3/4-mile east of known Lansing-Kansas City (LKC) oil production in the Armbrister oil field in the SW/4 of the section. Most nearby production comes from the Shawnee and LKC zones. Arbuckle production lies several miles away from Murfin’s new strike. The Irene lease is situated 5-1/4 miles south of Zurich, Kansas.

(2) Lario Oil & Gas Has Discovery - Ellis County Wildcat Opens New Unnamed Field
Wichita-based Lario Oil & Gas Company has opened a new unnamed oil pool in Ellis County, located about midway between the cities of Schoenchen and Pfeifer, or 3 miles west of Pfeifer, Kansas. The #1-32 Errol Engel, spotted in C E/2 SE NE of section 32-15s-R17W, is currently being equipped with a pumping unit after recovering good shows of oil from the Arbuckle formation. Production depth is not available. The wildcat well was drilled to a total depth of 3550 ft by rotary measurements, or 3552 ft by log. Site lies 3/4-mile northwest of oil production in the Basgall West (LKC) oil field, however, closest Arbuckle production nearby is over one mile away.

(3) Imperial American Oil Has Two Seismic Finds
(IOG Weekly News 03/10/03) - Imperial American Oil Corp., Denton (TX), continues to use seismic data successfully in Ellis County with the completion of two new oil producers. The #30-1 Evelyn, NE SE, and the #30-1 Verna Unit, SE SW, both slightly over one-half mile from each other in section 30-T12S-R16W. The wells were drilled to total depths of 3628 ft. and 3661 ft. respectively, intended for Arbuckle.

Lansing-Kansas City oil is being produced by both wells, however, production details are not available. Well locations are about 3/4-mile northwest of
closest oil production in the Windholz field. The city of Catherine lies 3 miles to the south and 3-1/2 miles east of the new finds. The new field is called Windholz Northwest.

(4) Coral Coast Petroleum  Has Oil Discovery
(IOGsi Weekly News 03/31/2003) - Daniel M. Reynolds, Managing Member  and geologist, dba/ Coral Coast Petroleum, LC, has established a new oil field in northeastern Ness County. The Wichita-based firm has successfully completed its #1 Keith, located in approximately SE SW of section 18-T16S-R22W.

The wildcat well was placed on pump in early March for an undisclosed amount of production. Pay comes from the Cherokee Sand, which is productive between 4400 to 4500 ft. in the other wells in the vicinity.  Murfin Drilling tools bottomed the well at 4520 ft. Closest existing production lies over 1-1/2 miles to the south in the Battmen field, in NE/4 of section 30, where the Conglomerate Sand produced from 4418 to 4434 ft. Coral Coast’s new field has not been named. Field area is located 3/4-mile north and 2-3/4 miles west of the city of Brownell.
