new address. We will keep it up-to-date
with the latest news on the project. You can
also get to it by going to the Foundation's
web page: www.kgfoundation.org or the
Society's web page: www.kgslibrary.com.
If you have not looked at our web site re-
cently, do so. It is a new and improved
look. Please let us know if there is anything
you would like to see on our web page. We
have some more ideas we will be imple-
menting soon.
We have had a very good first quarter in
the library this year. Hopefully that means
that all of you are having good fortune out
there also.
We have some events coming up this
spring that I hope you are not too busy to
attend. The first will be the Foundation's
Spring Mixer on Wednesday, May 19th at
4:30 PM. Then we have the KGS Fishing
Tournament on Friday May 21st at Winfield
City Lake. Then the KGS Golf Tourna-
ment will be Monday, June 14th at Hidden
Lakes Golf Club. See the enclosed flyers
with all the information and sign up forms.
Please try to attend some or all of these
events.

Respectfully,
Your Manager
Rebecca Radford
FROM THE MANAGER'S DESK
Dear Members,

First of all, I want to thank all of you for
your thoughts, prayers, calls and cards
regarding my husband's recent heart attack.
It was a frantic few weeks but all seems to
be well now. He just got a great report
upon his 6 week visit to the cardiologist so
we are counting our blessings. A special
thank you to the KGS for sending a beauti-
ful plant and to those of you who sent flow-
ers.
I have just returned today from Dallas,
TX and the AAPG Annual Meeting where
we shared a booth, the KGS, KGF and the
Walters Digital Library. We had fairly
good attendance at our booth considering
that attendance for the conference was low
this year (only a little over 5,000). Several
people expressed an interest in the digital
project. Other libraries such as Oklahoma
City and Midland, Texas are very interested
in our archiving project and are looking for
ways to do the same with their data. We
really are ahead of the curve on this project!
It was nice to interact with others at the con-
ference and see all of the new technology
that is being used by logging companies,
and database companies.
Speaking of the archiving project, we are
back up and scanning and linking to the
tune of approximately 10,000 documents
per week. This should get us moving north
through the state at a pretty good clip. If we
were not at your area of the state yet, keep
checking with us because we may be there
tomorrow! You can check by calling me or
check out the web site:
www.waltersdigitallibrary.com.
