Dear KGS members and friends,
My vision is weak as I write this let-
ter. Blood from my wrists is pooling
around my chair as I type. The date is April
15th, TAX DAY. I only thought I was get-
ting ahead.
On a lighter note, Spring has arrived
and a man's fancy turns to golf, fishing, ga-
rage cleaning, lawn mowing, weed eating.
The blood letting started again.
Upcoming events for May and June
include the KGF 9th Annual Spring Mixer
at the Petroleum Club in Wichita on May
19th. from 4:30 until 8:00 pm. Members
and all interested people are welcome for
the FREE event. Donations are greatly ap-
preciated to help defray the costs. Please
see the insert for more information.
The 20th Annual KGS Fishing Tour-
nament will be held at Winfield, Kansas
City Lake on Friday May 21st. See the in-
sert for details. I have been working the last
few years during this event, but I hope to be
able to attend this year. Don't quote me,
but I think that beer can be consumed this
year (unlike at Kingman County State
Lake).
The Annual KGS Golf Tournament
will be held at Hidden Lakes Golf Course
on June 14th. The registration information
is on an insert in this issue.
For those still needing CEU's for li-
cense renewal, there are 3 or 4 technical
talks in May as well as a seminar on pore
geometry on May 20. This seminar by Jack
Thomas is worth 4 CEU's. The cost for the
seminar is $50.00. Details are on page 16.

exotic or done anything of great interest. I
have not been home much or for very long
so far this year. I do hope this heightened
activity with good oil and natural gas prices
continues. Like the bumper sticker sticker
said, "Lord, give me one more boom. I
promise not to blank it all away this time!"
Bye for now,
Wes
